One great time i had with Darrell was when my brother Bill, Darrell and myself went fishing at Lake Amador. Amador is a small lake so as we trolled in circles around the lake we caught quite a few fish.Darrell kept saying this lake has good fishing by a dam site! It took a couple of hours to figure out what he was talking about until i looked up as we went by the dam on the lake. I glanced over at Darrell and he gave me that look and then that smile,(that Darrell smile) see you on the other side, your buddy Brian.

We will always remember the camping trips and Trail Riding with you and Pat. The best of times! RIP, DW, until we're all together again around the camp fire, singing Wagon Wheel!!

Dear Pat - I'm so very sorry to hear of Darrell's passing. Lee and I enjoyed our many years of friendship here in California and wish only that we'd lived closer so that we could continue to add to those fond memories. I always used to call Darrell my California brother because they had the same quiet demeanor. I'll always remember the anniversary of his passing - it is one day before the 2nd anniversary of Lee's passing on October 4.

I'm remembering the weekend Pat and Darrell spent with Bill and I in Mokelomne Hill, CA. We headed out early Saturday morning up the Mokelomne River on Electra Rd for some trout fishing. High stepping over the shoreline rocks to where the river flowed, we cast out our lines. Pat caught most of the fish but we all had fun and helped clean them. Home again, out came the skillet and the aroma of frying fish filled the air. Toast, eggs and fresh trout for breakfast - who could ask for a better time with best friends.

Darrell's travels covered much of the globe. He was fortunate to accomplish much of what was on his 'bucket list.' We Celebrate His Life and wish him God Speed on this, his final journey.
