Condolence & Memory Journal

Dear Barb, Connie and Cindy,
I wish this site let me put neighbor AND friend as the relationship I had with your mom. The first time I met your family was when your family moved near us on Manss Avenue back in the early 50s. It was our good luck that when we moved to First avenue in 1957 your family again moved catty corner from us. While we were growing up, I just knew your Mom as "Mrs. Briede". It wasn't until after Jim and I married, my dad died and my Mom decided to sell the family home, that we moved back to First Avenue. This is when your Mom became more than a neighbor to me. Although I always addressed her as Mrs. Briede, she was like a life line. I think she made two trips to the emergency room with me. 1 when Lara fell down the basement steps and needed stitches and 2 when John fell with a sucker in his mouth. Never did she act like I was bothering her. Your Mom was so kind and patient.
I'm so sorry I can't be there today.

CONNIE, BARBARA, CINDY & FAMILIES...
I WAS SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT MARIAN'S PASSING. SHE WAS A GREAT FRIEND WHO VOLUNTEERED SO MUCH OF HER LIFE IN ORDER TO MAKE THE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE. PART OF THAT TIME, THREE RIVERS SCHOOL DISTRICT & MYSELF WERE THE RECIPIENTS OF HER GOOD WILL. SHE CAME TO MIAMI HEiGHTS SCHOOL WHERE I WAS THE LIBRARIAN. & VOLUNTEERED ON BEHALF OF STEPHEN AYLWARD WHOSE MOTHER WAS WORKING. MONDAYS WERE MARIAN DAYS AS SHE WOULD COME & SPEND THE WHOLE DAY DOING WHATEVER NEEDED HER SPECIAL TOUCH. WHEN LUNCH TIME CAME IT WAS PIZZA AND CHAT TIME. I CAME TO KNOW HER WHOLE FAMILY. SHE LOVED THEM AND WAS VERY PROUD OF EACH AND EVERY ONE. SHE VOLUNTEERED FOR MANY YEARS AND ONLY QUIT WHEN OUR SCHOOL MOVED TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION. OUR FRIENDSHIP, WHICH CONTINUED UNTIL GOD CALLED HER HOME, WAS SOMETHING I WILL ALWAYS CHERISH. I KNOW GOD HAS ALREADY SAID TO HER, "WELL DONE MY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT". MAY OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN BE WITH THOSE THAT GRIEVE AND GIVE THEM THE PEACE THAT PASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING.

Barb, Connie and Cindy;

So sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom. I just now found out about her passing. I as sorry that I can not attend the funeral tomorrow due to a presentation at work that I can't reschedule. Dad is in a nursing home and will not be able to attend. I'm sure she and your Dad are enjoying a beer together in heaven. I will keep you all in my prayers during this difficult time.
