My thoughts and prayers are with George's family. I became acquainted with him when he worked at DOC in Madison and I worked for the hospital on the same grounds. He was always so pleasant and kind. One of the last times I talked to he and his wife was before they moved. May the love, support and many prayers of family and friends, along with the many wonderful memories all of you shared, give you comfort during this time.

I talked to Uncle George not real long ago, and the love in his words and voice for me, his family, and our Lord, was more obvious than ever! He never, in my whole life, said a cross word to me and even as a young boy, I always felt loved and welcomed in his home! I thank God for blessing me with a loving, caring Uncle such as him! I love you Uncle George and I won't say good bye, but so long, for now!

Great Uncle George was a true man of God,and I know he is with our savior now! His smile was so infectious, it made others smile. I may not have been around him a lot, but love knows no distance and no boundaries! I'm so sorry for your loss! He will be greatly missed, and forever loved by all the people whose lives he touched! Not only was it a privilege to be his great niece, it was also an honor! Again, I am so sorry for every heart that is breaking. I love you all, I will continue to pray and send all my love to the family. I love you forever and always Uncle George!

I remember when we were kids and George and I were riding bikes down a steep, gravel hill. Somehow the brace broke off the front fender of George's bike and we stopped and cut a piece of wire off a fence and wired the fender to the frame to hold it secure. We did real good until he had to turn the wheel and then he was in trouble!! What wonderful memories of my brother and me. May you rest in peace dear brother. Until we meet again. Arnold & Kitty

I remember the visits we had at Uncle George and Aunt Beanie's at Hanover when I was a child. Uncle George always like to cook and I was always amazed at how many different kinds of pop he had in the refrigerator. My husband got to meet them once when we went down with mom and dad. What great memories. You all are in my thoughts and prayers and I pray God will comfort you as only He can. I just think of what his eyes are beholding right now. One day we will know too.

Prayers for the entire Severn family

It was an honor to be able to work along side George not once but twice but what I value the most were the late night front yard conversations. I took a lot from them and he really taught me many lessons then. It seems as if it were only yesterday that he was staying up and talking with this young man instead of running him off. I really do appreciate every moment of it. My heart goes out to his entire family. He will be missed but he will always live on in my heart and spirit.

It was an honor to work with you not once but twice and to be able to call you a friend but what I will value the most were the front yard conversations and time you took to talk with a young man. I learned a lot of lessons and you tched my heart in more ways than I can express.
